A breakthrough has been achieved by scientists in curing HIV potentially. They found a way in which dead cells in an HIV infected person can be replaced by HIV-resistant cells.
Researchers at The Scrapp Reasearch Institute (TSRI) in US observed in an experiment that damaged cells can be replaced by the virus resistant cells and the antibodies that will be on the surface of these cells will prevent HIV from accessing a cell receptor. Jia Xie, auther of the first study and a senior scientist at (TSRI) said, “This protection would be long-term.”
The researchers are now looking forward to a collaboration with an independent research and treatment center of such deadly diseases in the US – City of Hope.
